Salvador do Mundo Church
Salvador do Mundo Church Founded: 1565    Feast: 6th August History: The Church was founded in 1565 in Serula, the largest village in Bardez later divided into three different parishes, Salvador de Mundo, Penha da Franca and Socorro. There was a house of studies for those who were taught in the Konkani language. This was the only residence in Bardez at that time which had an upper floor for the Parish Priest to reside. Architectural notes: • Mannerist Neo-Roman style
• Large size, 3 bays x 4 storeys
• Twin octagonal towers set back form façade
• Bell housed in central gable
• Coupled pilasters at corners of façade
• Belfry flanked by twin faces in relief
• Finials of spear type
